四大发明:
China’s Four Great Inventions
Gunpowder: one among the Four Great Inventions of ancient China. At the late of Tang dynasty, gunpowder was applied to military affairs. In Song dynasty, it was made into gunpowder arrow, which is the earliest gunpowder weapon in the world.
Paper-Making: one of the four great inventions of China and important achievement in the human civilization history as well. At AD105, Paper Making was imported to Japan.
Type-printing: one of China's four ancient inventions, is said to be invented by Bi Sheng in the Northern Song Dynasty, which is 400 years earlier than Europe. And it was imported to Southeast Asia in 11th century.
Compass: one of Chinese four ancient inventions. At the late of 12th century and the beginning of 13th century, it was imported to Arab by sea and then to Europe from Arab.
